Susan Keortge Cook, Ph.D. has been licensed as a clinical psychologist since 1996, and practiced in the Santa Barbara, California for ten years before relocating to the Denver area and opening a practice in 2010. She earned her bachelor of science magna cum laude from Westmont College and her masters and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from Washington State University. She completed pre- and postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital (mgh.harvard.edu) and McLean Hospital (mcleanhospital.org), both consistently ranked nationally at the top of psychiatric hospital care. She practiced at the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research in Philadelphia (beckinstitute.org) as a senior postdoctoral fellow under the direct supervision of Aaron T. Beck, M.D., founder of cognitive therapy.

 

She then went on to join a group private practice, also in Philadelphia. She was granted the status of Founding Fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy (academyofct.org). Following her promotion to Associate Professor of Psychology at Westmont College, Dr. Cook transitioned from full-time work as a professor to primarily engage in private practice as a psychologist.
