  • a focused, problem-solving therapy
  • shown in over 375 outcome studies to be highly effective for treatment of many mental health problems (e.g., depression, general anxiety disorders, panic, anger, marital distress)
  • also effective in adjunctive treatment of medical conditions (e.g., chronic pain, hypertension, fibromyalgia)
  • collaborative, educational, practical, and goal-oriented
